Frequently Asked Questions

What We Do, and the One Thing We Do Not

Start with the part most movers won't say plainly: we don't transport animals. Your dog, cat, birds or fish don't travel in a vehicle with furniture, because it isn't safe and it isn't fair on the animal. What we do is plan the household move around the animal, and coordinate with the specialist who moves them.

That distinction matters because pet relocation is widely advertised by general movers who then subcontract it, or worse, who put the carrier in the back of the truck. If a mover offers to take your dog in the load, that tells you something about the rest of their operation too.

So the honest shape of this service is: we handle your household, we work around the animal's travel arrangements, and we tell you what needs booking and when. The animal's journey itself belongs to a licensed pet transport service, a vet, or you.

Moving Day Is the Highest Risk Day Your Pet Will Have

A front door propped open for six hours with strangers carrying furniture in and out is exactly how a cat gets out and a dog gets on to the road. It happens on moving days constantly and it is the single most preventable thing about the whole exercise.

The animal should not be in the house. A friend's place, a boarding kennel, or as an absolute last resort a room that stays shut with a sign on the door and somebody responsible for it. Take them out before the crew arrives rather than while the crew is working, because the risky moment is the first hour when doors are being propped and nobody has settled into a rhythm.

Book the boarding before you book the mover. It sounds backwards and it's the right order, because a moving date is easier to shift than a kennel place in season. Take a familiar blanket and a bowl with you rather than packing them, and keep the collar and tag on even if the animal is going somewhere secure.

Fish, Birds and the Things People Underestimate

An aquarium is the item people most underestimate. The tank has to be drained, the fish bagged in water from the tank itself rather than fresh water, and the filter media kept wet in a sealed bag of that same water so the bacteria in it survive. The tank travels empty and level, because a glass tank will crack at the seams under its own weight if it's lifted wrong.

Even done properly, fish take a knock, and if the tank is large it's genuinely worth asking whether it should move at all. We carry the tank. We don't drain it, refill it or set it up at the far end, and that isn't us being unhelpful, it's that setting up a tank properly shouldn't be rushed by somebody with another job to get to.

Birds want their cage covered and kept away from the noise, and they want moving in your own car rather than on any vehicle we're running. Plants aren't pets but they belong in the same category of things that can't be boxed: upright, in open crates, watered lightly two days before rather than on the morning, loaded last so they come off first.

Interstate and Overseas, and Where the Paperwork Lives

Moving an animal between states within India needs a health certificate from a vet, and moving one out of the country needs considerably more: vaccination records, a microchip in most cases, an import permit from the destination country, and often a quarantine arrangement. Timelines are measured in months rather than weeks and some vaccinations have minimum waiting periods before travel.

None of that is ours. It belongs to a vet and a licensed pet relocation specialist, and the reason we mention it here at all is that people book the household move first and discover the animal's timeline afterwards, which is the wrong order and an expensive one.

If an animal is going overseas, start with the vet, not with the mover. Once you know when the animal can legally travel, the household move plans itself around that date easily enough.

What Pet Relocation Costs

JobPriceWhat decides it
Household move planned around a pet's travel₹6,000 – ₹10,500Ordinary 2 BHK rates. The coordination costs nothing extra; the timing is the work.
1 BHK move with a pet boarded for the day₹3,500 – ₹6,500Book the boarding before the mover. Dates are easier to shift than kennel places.
Aquarium carried empty and levelAfter SurveyPriced per tank and per size. Carried empty and level, never on its side.
Plants and outdoor pots moved separately₹2,999 onwardsOften the best way. They go ahead of the household rather than on a loaded truck.
3 BHK household with pets, plants and a tank₹9,000 – ₹16,000Pets, plants and glass drive the vehicle choice on a job like this.
Interstate household move with an animal travelling separatelyAfter SurveyDistance banded at ₹15 to ₹28 per km. The animal's timeline sets the date.

Local moves start at ₹2,999. Interstate work is charged on distance bands of ₹15 to ₹28 per KM depending on the distance, quoted separately from the load so you can see both figures.

What Pet Relocation Does Not Include

Worth reading before you book. A mover who tells you this afterwards has cost you a day.

  • We do not transport animals. Not in a moving vehicle, not in a crate in the load, not at all. That belongs to a licensed pet transport service or to you.
  • We do not arrange health certificates, import permits, microchipping or quarantine. Those belong to a vet and a specialist, and they take months.
  • We do not drain, refill or set up aquariums. We carry the tank empty and level; the rest wants doing slowly and it should be your call when.
  • We do not take responsibility for an animal loose on moving day. Get them out of the house before the crew arrives, and keep the collar and tag on.
  • We do not move plants in sealed cartons. They travel upright in open crates, and if that will not work for your collection we will say so.

More Questions About Pet Relocation

Will you transport my dog or cat?

No, and we would rather say that plainly than take the booking. An animal does not travel in a vehicle with furniture; it is neither safe nor fair. Use a licensed pet transport service or take them yourself, and tell us what time they are leaving so we work around it.

So what does pet relocation mean on your site?

That we plan the household move around the animal and coordinate with whoever is moving them. If a general mover offers to put your dog in the load, that tells you something about the rest of their operation as well.

What should we do with the pet on moving day?

Get them out of the house before we arrive. A door propped open for six hours with strangers carrying furniture is how animals end up on the road, and it happens far more often than people expect. A friend's place or a boarding kennel for the day, with a familiar blanket, is worth the small cost.

How do we move a fish tank?

Drain it the evening before, bag the fish on the morning in water from the tank itself, and keep the filter media in a sealed bag of that same water so the bacteria survive. We carry the tank empty and level. We do not refill or set it up, and if the tank is large it is worth asking whether it should move at all.

We are moving abroad with a pet. Where do we start?

With the vet, not with us. Vaccination records, a microchip, an import permit and sometimes quarantine, and the timelines run in months rather than weeks with minimum waiting periods after some vaccinations. Once you know when the animal can legally fly, the household move plans itself around that easily.

Can our plants travel with the household?

Yes, upright in open crates rather than sealed cartons, loaded last so they come off first. Water them lightly two days before rather than on the morning, because soaked soil doubles the weight and gets everywhere. A large collection is often better sent as its own earlier run.

What does a move with pets cost?

The household at ordinary rates, so Rs 6,000 to Rs 10,500 for a 2 BHK and Rs 3,500 to Rs 6,500 for a 1 BHK. The coordination costs nothing extra. What you pay separately is the boarding or the pet transport service, and those are booked by you.
